...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT...

...The National Weather Service in Chicago IL has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Illinois...

Kishwaukee River near Perryville affecting Winnebago County.

For the Kishwaukee River...including Perryville...Minor flooding is
forecast.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Kishwaukee River from Confluence with South Branch
Kishwaukee River downstream to the Rock River, including the
Perryville gauge.

* WHEN...Until just after midnight tonight.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Water overtops low-lying banks in
Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve and in south Rockford near
Chicago Rockford International Airport. Trails threatened at
Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 11.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The river climbed overnight to near flood
stage.
- Forecast...The river is expected to crest near flood stage
this afternoon.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

Information:
A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or
may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the
warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.

...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois,
including the following counties, in north central Illinois,
Boone, De Kalb, Lee, Ogle and Winnebago. In northeast Illinois,
Lake IL and McHenry.

* WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Roads and streets may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 842 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 2 and 3
inches of rain have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rockford, Waukegan, Crystal Lake, Gurnee, Round Lake Beach,
McHenry, Belvidere, Woodstock, Zion, Loves Park, Machesney
Park, Grayslake, Libertyville, Round Lake, Dixon, Antioch,
Wauconda, Roscoe, Fox Lake and Harvard.

Information:
A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
