A FLASH FLOOD WARNING is in effect for this area until 6:15 AM CDT. This is a dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
North Central Bastrop County in south central Texas...
Northwestern Lee County in south central Texas...
East Central Travis County in south central Texas...
Southeastern Williamson County in south central Texas...

* Until 615 AM CDT.

* At 208 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Austin, Pflugerville, Taylor, Elgin, Lexington, Manor, Thrall,
Coupland, Tanglewood, Beyarsville, Knobb Springs, Butler, Noack,
Blue, McDade, Cedar Hills, Rices Crossing and Sandoval.

Information:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following
counties, Bastrop, Caldwell and Lee.

* WHEN...Until 845 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 441 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
San Marcos, Kyle, Lockhart, Bastrop, Luling, Giddings,
Smithville, Lexington, Martindale, Uhland, Mustang Ridge,
Niederwald, Staples, Dime Box, Circle D-KC Estates, Camp
Swift, Rosanky, Wyldwood, Cedar Creek and Paige.
