...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following
counties, Allen, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson.

* WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1001 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chanute, Iola, Neodesha, Fredonia, Humboldt, Yates Center,
Erie, St. Paul, La Harpe, Gas, Moran, Thayer, Altoona,
Toronto, Buffalo, Neosho Falls, Galesburg, Savonburg, Elsmore
and Benedict.

Information:
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
